- I am a little, old lady,a retired schoolteacher nearing seventy years of age. I live in SW Washington State on a small acreage which I call "Brocken." My companions here are my pugs. I am about to leave this land of Brocken on a journey unlike any I have ever before undertaken. I want to drive around and across the US, coast to coast and border to border, in an effort to raise awareness about the number of people unjustly imprisoned in this country. My focus is the case of Elsa Newman and her sons, about which case I have been writing in this blog.

hmm looked into this article, as a maryland resident seen it, honostly i think elsas guilty,
her friend admitted elsa told her to attempt to murder the man
also elsa admitted to two of her own friends, and well the man has a gunshot in his knee lol
im all for mothers rights, but this is a pretty much shut case

her friend admitted elsa told her to attempt to murder the man--NOT TRUE; THE FAMILY FRIEND, MARGERY LANDRY, ALTHOUGH OFFERED A REDUCTION IN HER OWN SENTENCE IF SHE WOULD TESTIFY AGAINST NEWMAN, REFUSED TO DO SO, SAYING SHE ALONE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR HER ACTIONS; NOT ONLY THAT, BUT SHE WISHED SHE COULD BLAME SOMEONE ELSE, BECAUSE IT HAD RUINED HER LIFE.
also elsa admitted to two of her own friends--ADMITTED WHAT? NOT TO ANYBODY I'VE EVER HEARD OF OR HEARD FROM.
and well the man has a gunshot in his knee lol--NO, HE WAS SHOT IN THE UPPER THIGH IN A STRUGGLE OVER A HAND GUN, WHILE SLOBODOW WAS TRYING TO TURN THE GUN ON LANDRY.

but this is a pretty much shut case--NOT REALLY; THE COURT WITNESSED AND THE JURY JUDGED A DEBATE, AND KATHERINE WINFREE IS A DEBATER PAR EXCELLENCE. SHE WON THE DEBATE AND PUT AN INNOCENT WOMAN IN PRISON--AND HER CHILDREN IN THE HANDS OF A FATHER THEY HAD ACCUSED OF MOLESTING THEM SEXUALLY AS WELL AS WELL AS PERPETRATING OTHER FORMS OF ABUSE ON THEM: PHYSICAL, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL, VERBAL AND SPIRITUAL. PERHAPS YOU COULD LOOK BEYOND THE MEDIA--WHICH HAD PREJUDGED THE CASE BEFORE IT EVER GOT TO THE COURTS.
Or perhaps you could check the attitude of your Attorney General, Doug Gansler, who, apparently disinterested in the truth, said of your highest court in the state of Maryland, "They just released the woman who wanted to kill her kids."
Perhaps you could investigate the possibility that Stephen Friedman really did lie. Or investigate where all those notes came from.
Perhaps you could check out the attitude of the prosecutor, Katherine Winfree. I have in hand emails from Winfree to a police detective, in which Winfree referred to Newman as "a delusional witch." This is hardly the attitude of someone interested in truth--but rather the attitude of someone determined to gain a conviction at any cost.
Perhaps you could check out to report of one Dr. Scharff, who was the boys' treating psychiatrist for nearly a year, and actually reported their disclosures of abuse.
Perhaps you could explain what a naked little boy was doing in the bed of a father who was naked from the waist down.
Perhaps you could explain why--if Landry intended to kill Slobodow--she did not slip quietly into the bedroom (where he claimed he was asleep) and put a bullet in his head.
Or perhaps you could look for a man named Anders Arestad in the DC area, who knows that Arlen Slobodow molests his children sexually and has used them for the creation of child pornography.
Or...on the other hand...perhaps you couldn't. My thought is that people who claim to have investigated this crime have stopped at the media, instead of digging further.
So you see...I guess neither one of us believes the other.
